Topdon Phoenix ADAS Mobile Basic — Entry-Level Static Calibration for Shops Starting with ADAS

The Phoenix ADAS Mobile Basic is Topdon's entry point into professional ADAS calibration. At $4,620, it gives a shop the core hardware needed to perform static camera and front radar calibration after windshield replacements, camera R&R, or front-end suspension repairs — without the full investment of the Phoenix Smart bundle. If your shop handles windshield work or is starting to see ADAS recalibration jobs come across the lift, this is the configuration that gets you started.

What the Phoenix Mobile Basic Includes

  • Phoenix Mobile Calibration Frame: The wheeled, adjustable target stand that positions calibration boards and panels in front of the vehicle at the correct height and lateral offset required by the OEM calibration procedure.
  • Target Boards and Panels: The physical calibration targets used for front-facing camera systems. These are positioned per vehicle-specific OEM requirements — exact distances and angles are determined by the Phoenix ADAS software during the procedure.
  • Compatible with Topdon Phoenix Diagnostic Tablets: The frame and targets work with Topdon's Phoenix-series diagnostic tablets running the ADAS calibration software. The tablet guides the technician through the setup, positioning, and calibration execution step by step.

What Calibration Jobs This Covers

  • Windshield Replacement: Any vehicle with a camera mounted to or near the windshield (forward collision warning, lane departure, automatic emergency braking) requires static camera recalibration after glass R&R. This is the primary use case driving ADAS calibration volume in most shops.
  • Front Camera R&R: Camera replacement, bracket repair, or any mechanical work that disturbs the camera mounting position.
  • Front Radar (ACC): Adaptive cruise control radar recalibration following bumper removal, front-end collision repair, or radar module replacement, depending on included targets — confirm with Topdon or OEM Diagnostic Tools which radar targets are included in this specific bundle.
  • Suspension and Alignment-Related Recalibration: Some OEMs require ADAS recalibration after front suspension or steering repairs that affect vehicle geometry.

Who This Configuration Is For

  • Auto Glass Shops and Body Shops: If you're doing windshield replacements regularly, you need an in-house calibration solution. Subcontracting calibration costs time and margin. The Mobile Basic gives you what you need to bring that work in-house.
  • General Repair Shops Starting with ADAS: If ADAS recalibration jobs are starting to show up at your counter and you don't want to turn them away, the Mobile Basic is a lower entry cost than the full Phoenix Smart system. You can upgrade later as volume grows.
  • Shops Without Space Constraints for a Fixed Target Room: The Mobile frame rolls to the vehicle and sets up in your existing bay. No dedicated ADAS calibration room required — though you do need a flat, level surface with adequate space in front of the vehicle.

Mobile Basic vs. Phoenix Smart — When to Step Up

The Phoenix Smart bundle adds Topdon's Smart Sensor system, which uses the tablet's camera and sensors to automatically position the calibration frame to the correct location — reducing setup time and eliminating manual measurement errors. If you're doing high volume or want faster throughput per job, the Smart is worth the additional investment. The Mobile Basic requires the technician to manually position the frame per the software-guided instructions, which is workable at moderate volume but slower than the assisted positioning in the Smart system.

If you're doing corner radar calibration (blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic) or AVM/360-camera work, confirm with us which additional target boards and accessories are required — those may not be included in the Basic bundle. Call us and we'll walk through exactly what your shop's mix of vehicles and systems requires before you order.

Technical Notes

  • Calibration Type: Static (in-bay). Dynamic calibration (road test) may also be required by some OEMs after static — this is a software/procedure requirement, not a hardware limitation.
  • Software: Topdon Phoenix ADAS software, accessed via compatible Phoenix diagnostic tablet (confirm tablet inclusion or compatibility with your existing Phoenix tablet before ordering).
  • Coverage: Broad domestic and import vehicle coverage — exact make/model/year coverage is confirmed through the Phoenix software's vehicle selection menu. Contact us for coverage questions on specific vehicles you service.
  • Space Requirement: A flat, level bay with sufficient clear space in front of the vehicle per OEM calibration distance requirements. Exact distances vary by vehicle — the software specifies them during the procedure.
